Henry Schmitz는 유덥에 넘어오기전에 University of Idaho에서 Forestry를 가르치고, University of Minnesota에서 Forestry부서장이었습니다. 1944년에 Schmitz는 Agriculture, Forestry, Home Economics 그리고 Veterinary Medicine에서 학장이었습니다. 그러다 1952년에 유덥 총장이 됩니다. 그리고 1958년에 은퇴합니다. 슬프게도 1965년 1월 30일, 72세나이로 Dungeness Bay에서 익사하게됩니다.

Forestry분야에서 많은 일을 하셔서 그런지 Forestry랑 관련된 건물에 Honors Room이 있네요.
