Washington 주에서는 국제면허증이 필요없다!?

걱정마라, 이건 필자의 면허증이 아니다.

  워싱턴주에서는 한국 면허증만 있으면 바로 워싱턴주 면허증이 발급된다. 처음 듣는다면 의심스럽게 들릴 수 있으나, 이것은 fact다. 워싱턴주는 한국과의 외교관계에 있어서 고위급 정치인들끼리 활발하게 지내왔다. 그래서 그런지 한국인에 대해 너그럽다.

  워싱턴주는 한국에서 받은 면허증을 인정해준다.그래서 면허시험을 보지 않고도 바로 워싱턴주의 면허가 발급된다. 참 편리하다.

행정업무에 대한 비용은 총 $89이다. 조금 비싼 비용이지만, 미국에서 시험을 보지 않아도 된다는 것이 얼마나 다행인지 모를 것이다.

면허를 발급하러 갈때 필요한 준비물은

• 한국에서 발급 받은 면허증
• 신분증명에 필요한 여권
• 현재 거주지 증명서 

혹시 모르기 때문에 F-1 비자도 챙겨서 가는 것을 추천한다.
